Congratulations to Our Founding Team: Drs. Ebony Johnson, Alexa White, and Michole Washington Earn Their PhDs
Asé Analytics is thrilled to announce that three members of our founding team - Dr. Ebony Johnson, Dr. Alexa White, and Dr. Michole Washington - have earned their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees from the University of Michigan. The trio crossed the stage together on May 3rd 2024, marking the culmination of their years of hard work, dedication, and groundbreaking research.
Dr. Ebony Johnson, our visionary founder and Principal Consultant, earned her PhD in Sociology with specializations in health & social demography. Her dissertation explored the complex intersections of race, class, and gender in shaping survey measurements of health outcomes across the lifespan. Dr. Johnson's innovative research methodology and profound insights have already begun to transform our understanding of health equity and inspire new approaches to addressing disparities.
Dr. Alexa White, our Environmental Health and Policy Lead, earned her PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Her dissertation broke new ground in investigating the political economy of sustainable agriculture and identifying strategies for advancing environmental justice. Dr. White's work exemplifies her commitment to harnessing science as a tool for social change and her brilliant ability to bridge the realms of research and advocacy.
Dr. Michole Washington, our Learning Experience Design Lead, earned her PhD in Educational Studies with a focus on math education. Her dissertation examined the experiences of Black girls in STEM fields and developed a groundbreaking framework for creating inclusive, equitable learning environments. Dr. Washington's passion for transformative education and her innovative pedagogical approaches are already making waves in the field and beyond.
The PhD journeys of Drs. Johnson, White, and Washington are a testament to their incredible intellect, unwavering commitment to social justice, and boundless potential as scholars and changemakers. Their accomplishments also reflect the power of sisterhood, solidarity, and mutual support that has been a driving force behind Ase Analytics since its inception.
